Following my previous post about Singapore, the next stop on the trip was in Sydney. We went in July time and the temperature was much colder than expected due to the coastal breeze! Again we only had a few days so didn't manage to explore too much but we had expert guides in my cousins in-laws who live in Sydney and kindly became our tour guides during our stay!
Sydney Harbour Bridge
The famous sight in Sydney and the spot where the new year fireworks are set off. We decided to do the harbour bridge climb which, although expensive, was one of those tick off the bucket list experiences! You start by getting kitted up in their jumpsuits, followed by training with a mini simulation of the ladders inside the bridge and next up is going out onto the bridge! The main strenuous part is climbing up the ladders within the bridge to the main arch at the top. The views along the way up are breathtaking! Going in the Australian winter means the breeze at the top is very strong and cold!
Sydney Opera House
We walked along the harbour to the Opera House and walked around the building to see it from different angles. As you can see from the photo below, the area is very packed! There are lots of restaurants along the walkway so its a great place to spend an afternoon with a view of the harbour.

Blue Mountains
A part of Sydney we didn't have time to explore but comes highly recommended for nature lovers. There are many different activities and tours through the area. The view from the lookout point looks amazing. There is a glass floored cable car for those brave enough!
Bondi Beach
I went to Sydney in their winter time so we didn't spend any time on the beach and just drove through. With better weather I can see why its so popular. There are lots of cafes, shops, bars near the beach which makes it the perfect place to spend a relaxing day. There is also the swimming pool located right next to the ocean! From May-November you can see humpback whales during their annual migration. In October-November there is a sculpture exhibition near the beach.

Travel the East Coast
If you have more time, I would recommend the trip up the east coast of Australia. I have heard many good things about it! There are many tour operators who run organised trips with travel and accommodation or you can plan your own adventure to go at your own speed. The main place on my bucket list are the Whitsunday Islands! This will definitely be something that I would love to do on my next trip to Australia.
