Back in 2014 I went on a multi city trip with my parents to Perth to visit my cousin with short stops in Singapore, Sydney and Dubai. We had a quick 3 day stop over in Singapore to break up the journey to Sydney. In this post I will outline the main attractions not to miss on a quick stop in this amazing country.

Marina Bay Sands

This is probably the centre point in Singapore with it being famous for its boat shaped roof across the three towers. If you choose to stay at the hotel then you will have access to the amazing infinity pool on the rooftop giving great views over Singapore. If you are not a guest then you can still have access to the roof observation deck to see the amazing views over the city! Beneath the hotel is a shopping centre with many designer stores and a canal which runs through the centre. You are also able to catch a broadway theatre show, see the light and water show or visit the Digital Light Canvas attraction. You could probably spend a whole day here if you have the time or combine with the Art Science Musem discussed below.

Art Science Museum

You will likely walk past this on route to Marina Bay Sands. We were pushed for time so didn't visit the museum. However, at the moment there are a few exhibitions I would love to go to. The building itself it very impressive with it's Lotus shape.

Gardens By The Bay

If you were to search Singapore, one of the things that will pop up is an image of the Super Trees at Gardens By The Bay. These giant metal structures are covered in plants and light up at night for the light and sound show. There is also a Skyway connecting the Super Trees allowing you to walk around and view the Gardens and Singapore from a higher vantage point. You can also purchase tickets to go into the Flower Dome (filled with flowers) and Cloud Forest (large waterfall and raised walkway) conservatories. If you are pushed for time then I would suggest choosing one of these. The Gardens area is large so you can walk around the grounds passing lakes, sculptures and many different plants.

Sentosa Island

A place we didn't visit on our trip but one I have heard lots of things about. Definitely a must visit for adventurous people looking for a thrill on their holiday. It is easily reached from mainland Singapore with many transport options. I would suggest checking out Sentosa's website for the full range of attractions but to name a few: Segway, zipline, swimming with dolphins, waterpark, indoor skydiving, water and light shows as well as beaches to relax! You could spend a whole trip on the island alone!

That's all for Singapore! Hope this helps you plan your own trip to the amazing country.
